Tuesday, 7th Oct 2014, 4:22 PM IST Earlier, ‘Rang Rasiya’ and ‘Super Nani’ were all set to clash with Shahrukh Khan starrer ‘Happy New Year’, but both the films postponed their release date to avoid a clash with the mega film. However, now Hollywood flick‘Gone Girl’, starring Ben Affleck, will be releasing on 24th Oct along with ‘HNY’. ‘Gone Girl’ is based on Gillian Flynn's novel and tells the story of a man, who gets caught in a media show when his wife goes missing. CEO of Fox Star Studios, Vijay Singh says that the film which release in US on 3rd Oct has got a great response on social networking websites and the audiences in India want to see the film. He said, "We've been busy with the release of ‘Bang Bang’ and Diwali is the next big window for us." Talking about the film’s clash with SRK’s ‘HNY’, he said,"The level of interest in India is high, given Affeck's popularity and David Fincher's credibility with films like ‘The Social Network’ and ‘The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button’. We're confident of getting a good chain of theatres and prime time shows. And the fan following online should carry us through. We're not in conflict with ‘Happy New Year’." It is said that censor board has found this R-rated film a little too brutal and have asked for some cuts, which have been forwarded to Fincher. Fincher’s last film ‘The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo’ didn’t get a release in India due to nudity. Vijay said, "I can assure you that you will see the film as Fincher has envisaged it." |
