Friday, 25th July 2014, 05:45 PM IST Actor Jackie Shroff is currently busy toning his body for the remake of ‘Warrior’ in which he plays the father of Akshay Kumar and Sidharth Malhotra. But apart from that, he will be lending his voice for his friend Kamal Sadanah's directorial debut‘Roar: The Tigers of Sunderbans’.
The actor will do a voice over for the promo of the full-length feature film set in the mangroves of Bengal, without charging a rupee. Kamal confirmed the news saying, “Jackie has always been large-hearted. I've known him for years now. I used to watch his movie trials as a kid. When we were brainstorming, his name evoked an instant 'yes' from everyone in the team. His voice has the texture and the quality that we were looking for.”
In the promo, Jackie’s voice will introduce the audience to the movie's premise, and its dangerous inhabitants. The jungle, spread across 10000 sq kms, is located in Bangladesh and India. Kamal said, “I wish we could include his voice-over for the movie too but it's too late for that. The narrative won't allow that.”
Jackie said, “I've known Kamal for years. He comes from a renowned film family. I used to watch his father, Brij Sadanah's movies as a kid, when they were played in our chawl during festivals. How could I charge him a fee for doing a voice-over? He needed help for his tigers, and I was there for him.” |
