Friday, 24th Oct 2014, 6:10 PM There was a buzz that Subhash Ghai had sold the remake rights of ‘Khalnayak’ (1993) to Sanjay Leela Bhansali for the remake of the film. However, Ghai has denied the reports. Talking about it, Ghai said, "I respect Sanjay Leela Bhansali as a unique filmmaker who has also proved himself as an independent producer with ‘Rowdy Rathore’ and ‘Mary Kom’. But I have not made up my mind about selling the remake rights of ‘Khalnayak’. Let's wait and see. Having said that, I must admit I feel honoured when my past movies are being considered by my filmmaker-friends for remakes, as they are still seen to be contemporary in content and characterization." "My door is open for all serious-minded filmmakers. And if destiny wills it, more of my films would be remade," he added. According to the sources, Bhansali is also busy in shooting of ‘Bajirao Mastani’ and has no time for any other project right now.
